Changing texts in your store

You can change the text on buttons, links, forms, and other places in your store. For example, you can rename the “Featured products” section that shows on the store home page to “Hot deals”, or change the “Add to bag” button to “Add to cart”. To edit the text, use the Store Label Editor in your store admin → Settings → Edit Store Labels.

Changing the default wording

You can easily replace the default verbiage in your store with your own texts using the Store Label Editor.

To change the wording in your storefront:

  1. From your store admin, go to Settings → Edit Store Labels.
  2. Click + Add Custom Label:

For instance, you want to change the default Add to Bag button to Add to Cart. Type “Add to Bag” into the search field, find the label and type “Add to Cart” in the text field to the right. The changes are saved automatically. Now the buttons will display “Add to Cart” in all your storefronts.

If you wish to update the name of the Order Comments section or the “Compare to” price name, use the built-in settings in your store admin panel → Settings → Cart&Checkout tab.

Hiding the default wording

Using the Store Label Editor, you can also hide the default wording in your store. To do that, you will need to remove the default wording and leave the field empty.

To hide the default wording in your storefront:

  1. From your store admin, go to Settings → Edit Store Labels.
  2. Find the label you want to hide.
  3. Delete the label value.
  4. The changes are saved automatically.
  5. The text label will be invisible in all the storefronts.

For example, you want to hide the Share this product with your friends text on the product details pages. Type in “Share this product with your friends” in the search bar, find the label and delete the label value in the field to the right.

Changing the wording in a multilingual store

If you offer your store in multiple languages and want to edit the default wording, you should edit it in each language. By default, the Store Label Editor is available in one language. To use the Store Label Editor in a multilingual mode, please contact us and we will enable it for you.

After you get the Multilingual option in the Store Label Editor, pick the language from the drop-down and edit the wording separately for each language.
